Updates

The desktop app checks for a new version once a day and tells you quietly. Your songs, projects and settings stay as they are when you update. The browser version is always the latest.

Finding out

The version number at the bottom of the sidebar turns into "0.x is out" when there's a new version. Click it to see what's in it. Bigger updates open that window once on their own.

The check asks GitHub for the latest release. Nothing about you or your songs is sent, and each update is signed, so the app only installs real releases.

Installing

Press Download update. Finish any chart that's generating first.

SystemWhat happens
Linux (AppImage)The new AppImage replaces the old one and Autochart restarts.
Windows (installer)The installer opens and Autochart closes.
macOSThe new .dmg opens and Autochart closes. Drag it to Applications, replacing the old one.
Windows (portable .zip)Opens the download page. Replace the old folder with the new one.

If anything goes wrong, Open download page gets the new version by hand.

What's new

After an update, a What's new window shows the changes once. If a new model came with it, you can download it right there. Every version's changes are in the Changelog.

Turning it off

Turn off Check for updates at the bottom of Settings. You can still check by hand on the releases page.
